Some comments from our guest book
26.10.2019 Thank you Paula, Peter and Weasel for our 10th fabulous holiday. The cottage with its recent improvements is even better if that's possible. After circumstances keeping us away for 12 months we did wonder that we were wearing rose - tinted glasses, but we have to say it's better than we remembered. Thanks once again for your brilliant hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again very soon. Lots of love Sheila, Tony, Ellie and Lola xx
19.10.2019 Thank you Paula, Pete and Weasel for another great week at Church View Cottage, the cottage was immaculate as usual and although the weather wasn't great we had a great time searching around the antique shops, walking on the beach and for the first time visiting another side of Norfolk we're not used to seeing Great Yarmouth. We had some lovely meals out meaning no cooking at night for me, a great break. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again Chris, Cheryl and Plum

The boys have run their legs off and slept every evening in the cosy lounge- can't beat it. Norfolk is such a dog friendly place we hope to be back in 2020. Sue, Derek, Nobby, Marley and George.

We all had a great week exploring and eating our way round Norfolk! Had a lovely visit to Horning and a boat trip along the Broads on the Mississippi boat. The dogs loved all the attention. A nice stroll around the lovely town of Holt, Daisy, Dylan and Dexter got new toys from "Woofers and Barkers" Very posh dog boutique! 27.7.2019 Thank you once again for your wonderful hospitality during our stay at your lovely, welcoming cottage. A lovely 21st birthday surprise on arrival for our son Nathan was truly appreciated and such a special and kind thought, along with all the goodies in the welcome pack. As you know, we absolutely love this little part of England and have visited frequently.Thankfully we have visited most of the sites before so haven't felt the need to charge out every day. It's been lovely to just relax in this current heatwave. This weeks consistently high temperatures in excess of 30 degrees has not been great fro the dog but we have thoroughly enjoyed our early morning and late evening walks along the beaches. We have spent time at Happisburgh, Bacton Woods, Horsey, Waxham and Winterton either walking on the beach or on the dunes. The food in this area is excellent and we have eaten in many beach cafes at lunchtimes and at the Star Inn and Hill House which is our favourite. 5.5.2018 Another great week at Church View Cottage. Rain and wind at the start of the week didn't put us off walking and exploring. Sun at the end of the week gave us a chance to sit back and enjoy the boats on the Broads. Peter, Paula and Weasel great hosts as ever and Pete's supply of antiques will probably pay for the holiday! Once again many thanks for all your help and look forward to seeing you soon. Cheryl, Chris and Plum.
28.4.2018 Time to leave already! Another great holiday. Thanks as always to Paula, Peter and Weasel for making our time here so fabulous. We are running out of things to say about all the good things about this place. 4 days spent in the hot, sunny garden. Walks in Bacton Woods and on the sand dunes at Horsey gap. Lots of seals on the beach. Back in September, we'll be counting down!! Sheila, Tony, Ellie and Lola.
14.4.2018 Home from home. A lovely welcome and Bess LOVED her homemade biscuits, as much as we loved the brownies and jam. A cold week but still made the most of the beaches; and nice to return to the cosyness of the cottage to warm up and have a brew. Definitely a place that is so dog friendly and Bess loved to chill out and also make sure the local bird life didn't rest too long in thee garden. thank you for a brilliant stay. We will be back. Helen, Ellen and Bess
7.4.18 Again a lovely visit to Church View. Very warm and cosy during the wet and horrible Easter Bank Holiday. Brilliant hamper enjoyed by all! Thoroughly enjoyed Sea Palling beach. Hope to see you again next year. Dave, Lorraine and Charlie and Boo xxx
30.3.2018 Our first stay at Church View but we will be definitely be coming back. The cottage is lovely and properly dog friendly. The dogs loved the local beaches and there are plenty to choose from. We tried Cart Gap, Sea Palling and Walcott. Beaches all had good car parks and toilets. The cottage is cosy and well situated, with a good "escape impossible" garden although who would want to escape from here. :) Sarah, John, Ollie, Tiny and Eric
24.3.2018 Our first visit to Church View and we have enjoyed a fabulous week. We arrived in snow and howling winds from the East but received a very warm welcome and a lovely hamper of cakes and other goodies. By Monday the weather started to improve and by Wednesday it was very Spring like. We have walked every day. ur Jack Russel Punk has enjoyed several muddy walks at Bacton Woods and numerous visits to the beach @ Cart Gap and Sea Palling. Getting muddy and playing ball on the each are two of his most favourite things. We spent a fabulous day at Blickling Hall - dogs are not allowed in the hall or formal gardens but there are acres of Parkland to explore.. We also enjoyed three hours on a small boat- exploring the Broads from Wroxham down to Horning and back. Several dog friendly cafes in Horning- we recommend The Gallery. We are sad to be going home, we could have stayed for several more weeks and not be bored- so many places to explore and walks to do. Return visit for 2019 already booked. Thank you Paula, Peter and Weasel. From Lorna, Gary and Punk.
17.3.2018 This is our third visit to Church View and we are back in September, we love it here and is home from home. Thank you for our welcome basket, lovely as always. My four doggies have had a lovely week, lovely walks along the beaches; Sea Palling, Mundesley and even too a drive to Holkham, a little further but well worth it as stunning beach and woodlands there. The weather was so cold that we read and played games in front of the woodburner, only venturing out for a bracing walk at Sea Palling and a delicious Sunday lunch at The Star. We were really impressed with the food and how the staff made such a fuss of the children and the dogs. Thank you very much for having us. Hannah, Kelvin, Mollie, Nell, Todd and Titch.

20.8.2016 A wonderful week obviously helped with the weather being so good. Our grandchildren and dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves. For little ones Dinosaur Adventure is very good. The beach at Happisburgh just a 5 minutes drive is excellent for dogs. Also Sea Palling is excellent for the children and the dogs. All of us enjoyed the food at The Lighthouse in Walcott. Just over 5 minutes away , food excellent and during summer Monday to Thursday there is children's entertainment in the marquee outside. The cottage was very quaint and welcoming, especially Paula's homemade jam and cup cakes they went down very well. The dogs loved their homemade dog biscuits plus bread and tomatoes, such a lovely gesture and really made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back at some point. Location and hospitality was fantastic. Thank you Paula and Peter. Regards Debbie, Dale, Jemma, Brooke, Leo, Flash and Charlie.

Wroxham and a nostalgic visit to Sprowston and Mousehold Heath where we used to live 30 years ago all added to our wonderful week. Our dogs Tucker, Zero and Bailey have had a brilliant week and I think they are pretty exhausted after so many fun packed days! I am sure we will return in a couple of years! 30.7.2016 Our first time staying here and it was very nice to do so. A great base for the Broads and the coast. We were particularly pleased for our dogs who had a nice, secure garden and homemade dog biscuits. We can second the comments about The Star, we had Sunday roast and it was very good. If we were holidaying this way again , Church View Cottage would be at the top of the list. The Old Vicarage Garden is well worth a visit or two! Ken, Priscilla, Ally, Dylan and Olly.
16.7.2016 This was our second holiday here at Church View Cottage, so it felt like "coming home". We absolutely adore all of the beautiful beaches and loved taking the dogs to Happisburgh beach in the evenings......we ventured up to Wells Next The Sea this time and it was well worth the trip-stunning beach. 4.6.2016 This was our first visit to Church View Cottage and it won't be our last. What a lovely peaceful setting. the cottage is fantastic. The weather this week has been awful so we have spent more time than we expected in the cottage but it has been lovely and having the log burner was great on the really chilly days. When we did venture out we braved the wind and enjoyed lovely walks at Great Yarmouth, Sea Palling and Cromer beaches which were all rather empty given the weather. The Star in Lessingham was fantastic for food and very welcoming. Scruff was given a dog treat and the pub dog gave him lots of licks! Fish and Chips from Kingfisher in Walcott was yummy. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and scruff loved his dog biscuits. We have enjoyed our week and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break. Thank you. Claire, James, Sam and Scruff.

11.7.2015 Church View Cottage is a very special place, unfussy, friendly and very relaxing. Being dog lovers it's great to find a place to stay where the dogs are really welcomed, not just tolerated. On top of that the little touches such as fresh flowers, a welcome pack with such a lot of goodies, including butter, bread and eggs, a supply of "comforts" for the dogs ( beds, bowls, tags for collars etc) and of course the safe, secure, private garden. Great beaches to visit all along the coast, the Weavers Way for dog walks and do visit the Old Barn at Waxham- it's magical and very atmospheric. Good food at The Lighhouse and most pubs in the area. Really enjoyed our stay with you Paula, Peter and Weasel. You have a little gem of a holiday cottage. Hope to return. Penny, Tony, Beth, Bobbie and Breeze.

We arrived from Australia looking to buy a house in the area and settle down here. As house-hunting and buying takes time we booked Church View Cottage. We didn’t know what to expect, but we were hoping it would be a little home-from home and, luckily, that’s exactly what it is. A comfortable, peaceful, well-equipped cottage, with a nautical theme to the decor. The central heating is very effective and there is also a wood burner to supplement the heating in the coldest months.
To make it even more homely it comes complete with wonderful neighbours: Peter and Paula (the owners) and Weasel, the resident Labradoodle. We arrived to find a lovely welcome pack, including a home-baked cake, a jar of delicious home-made chutney and various other goodies. Also in the basket was a jar of little nuggets which looked to me like little cheesy biscuits. I found them to be quite hard and not at all cheesy. When I expressed my disappointment to Frances, she said “They are home-made dog biscuits. You haven’t been eating them, have you?”The dogs enjoyed them more than me, but I woke up the next morning with a shiny coat and a wet nose!
There is a nice spacious garden to keep the dogs amused. The only thing they object to is that the fencing is so good that they can’t get out to explore the surrounding countryside unsupervised. Luckily, we are only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful beach at Happisburgh, which they love.
Comfy, cosy, peaceful and friendly: it’s a real home-from-home.
It’s always a leap of faith to book over the internet – especially when booking from Australia – but the cottage is just as lovely as it looks in the photos, and we were made to feel so welcome even though we got lost on the way and were late arriving! What makes it even more special is the way the dogs are really welcome – their own comfy beds, bowls and towels, and such a lovely garden that they are free to enjoy.

The cottage is very comfortable and full of character fittings and has been thoughtfully done. We enjoyed the local beaches and also ventured further afield to the North Norfolk Coast. All in all a good relaxing break and would definitely recommend. Especially dog friendly!

Thank you so much for making us feel at home in your beautiful cottage. Gorgeous, comfy beds by the way, the best sleep we've had in ages! You live in such a beautiful corner of the world, and we really can't wait to come back and, who knows, one day we may even be neighbours! Thank you so much again and hope to see you really soon.

Thank you Peter, Paula and Weasel for a warm welcome. Beautiful cottage, great for Alfie the dog, although did make a break for it once! The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of interesting things to looks at. Loved the signs etc and the book " Norfolk Dumplings" Your knowldege of the area also helped us find some lovely placces to visit, particularly the beach at Happisburgh. Finally thank you again for being so friendly and helpful. Meant to mention fantastic welcome pack, cucumber relish was scrummy, as were the cakes.
